Never Have I Ever - Part 2

Remember that game you used to play with all your friends? And how proud you were when you won? This is kind of like that!

Here are FIVE things I've never done that most people have.

Read Part 1!

1. Gone snowboarding or skiing -
No reason for it, but every vacation I've taken has been to a warm climate. And I may or may not be worried I'll break every bone in my body like this guy:

via

2. Been to another continent -
This WILL happen.
via
3. Gotten a ticket -
I speed daily. I don't always come to a complete stop at stop signs. I never have my hands at 10 and 2. I'm a lucky rebel.

via
Bahahah...this made me laugh out loud.
4. Climbed a tree -
For some reason most of my friends have done this. I never really understood the appeal. I also thought I would break every bone in my body (see #1 for visual representation of this fear).
via
5. Broken a bone -
And although two of these items include my fear of breaking a bone, I have never actually broken any. Go me!

Never Have I Ever - Part 1

Remember that game you used to play with all your friends? And how proud you were when you won? This is kind of like that!

Here are FIVE things I've never done that most people have.

1. Gone camping -
Maybe I'm a little high maintenance. I like air conditioning, sleeping in a bed, and not having to fend for myself in the woods. My ex tried to take me camping, but unfortunately? fortunately? we broke up before that happened. I dodged that bullet...

via
This couple looks way too happy to be camping.
2. Pulled an all-nighter -
Nope. Never done it. Not through high school, college, or grad school. Not for fun. Not for studying. I like my sleep too much.
via

3. Tried a cigarette -
Gross.

via
4. Visited NYC or Cali -
I will eventually, just see here. :)

via
5. Gotten fired from a job -
via
Excuse me while I go knock on wood so this won't happen today.

What have you never done that most people have?

What You Need to Know if We're Gonna Be BFFs

Five completely ridiculous random facts I came up with for you to get to know me better. Ready? GO!

1. I never answer my phone. I'm not ignoring you, I just never hear my phone ring or feel it vibrate.

2. I dance and sing any time, any place. I only listen to music for which this is possible. Favorite song right now? Some Nights by fun.

3. I like to be the center of attention. I blame this on being a ballet dancer. It's ingrained in us at a young age to want to be the best, the prima, the center.

4. I tend to quote or relate situations to TV shows and movies...a lot. Particularly my current faves such as HIMYM and New Girl and my older faves Will & Grace and Boy Meets World.

1 / 2 / 3 / 4
5. I will critique every medical and dance show on TV. I stopped watching Grey's Anatomy when they had a prom in the hospital. I tried to get back into it and then Izzy brought a deer back to life in the back of a pickup with CPR paddles. Really?

See? I knew that would help you get to know me better.

Now, have you gone and said hi to my June sponsors? You should. They rock. Want to sponsor swap in July?

The ABC's of Me!

My friend, Courtney, did this A-Z post recently where I learned more about her, so I decided to do the same for you! Here are 26 things you can learn about the girl behind kiss, laugh, & dream.

A is for age: 24 - I just had my birthday!
B is for breakfast: Popcorn today since I saw "The Hunger Games" at 10:30am! Healthy, right?
C is for currently craving: Sweets, like always. If you couldn’t already tell by the fact that all the recipes I have posted are desserts, I have a definite sweet tooth.
D is for dinner tonight: Making homemade baked pickles! And having a huge salad to accompany it.
E is for favorite type of exercise: Ballet! I’m so excited to start back again. I used to dance >20 hours a week until I got completely burnt out my senior year of high school. Since then, I haven’t taken more than a handful of classes and I miss it so much! It’s on my 20 in 2012 list, not only for health benefits, but for my sanity.
F is for irrational fear: I feel like all my fears are rational (heights, snakes, etc)...
G is for gross food: I never in a million years thought I'd like Thai or Indian food, but in the last year I've had both and love them! Now, if only my friends/family would jump on the bandwagon too I could eat it more often.
H is for hometown: I grew up in Virginia Beach, VA.
via
I is for something important: Preventative medicine. I've done one post about this, but I plan on doing it more often because I think it's very important to prevent disease rather than wait to develop it and treat after the fact.
J is for current favorite jam: Snow Patrol – Called Out In The Dark
K is for kids: Someday (when I’m much, much older!).
L is for current location: Living in Austin, TX.
via
M is for the most recent way you spent money: Got my hair cut and bought a few new beauty products when I went to Ulta yesterday for my free birthday brow wax
N is for something you need: Love, friends, family.
O is for occupation: Physician Assistant, but while I’m waiting on my medical license, I’m working at a restaurant.
P is for pet peeve: When people are late. I tend to be early all the time, so it doesn't make sense to me when people are late everywhere.
Q is for a quote: My favorite quote from "The Hunger Games" trilogy. I laughed out loud when Finnick said this in Mockingjay. :)
via
R is for random fact about you: I'm ridiculously organized. I not only have a paper calendar, but I also have a calendar on my phone connected to an online calendar. I map out most days to the last minute.
S is for favorite healthy snack: Hummus...yum!
T is for favorite treat: French Vanilla Cake Cookies! Delicious…
U is for something that makes you unique: I have a grey streak of hair that I've had my entire life.
V is for favorite vegetable: There aren't many vegetables I don't like, but broccoli is probably my favorite.
W is for today’s workout: Nothing today. It's the weekend!
X is for X-rays you’ve had: I know I’ve had a few chest x-rays since I had pneumonia in high school and pleurisy during PA school. I’ve had x-rays of my knees and probably other joints because of dance injuries. Nothing recent though (knock on wood!).
Y is for yesterday’s highlight: Took ballet for the first time in ages!
Z is for your time zone: Lived my whole life in the Eastern time zone, but now in the Central time zone. Still adjusting to that, for sure.

I'd like to know more about you too! Do this same post on your blog, and let me know the link in the comments!

What's In My Purse

My favorite semi-weekly post by the amazing blogger at Petit Elefant is her "What's In Your Purse" series. Her readers (including myself) love seeing what women keep in their favorite accessory: their purses. Here's my purse and what I always bring with me.

My purse is Nine West and I've had it for years. The bow didn't come with it. I change my purse a lot, but this may be my favorite. The color reminds me of spring.

1 - Reading glasses
2 - Sunglasses
3 - Umbrella
4 - Eyedrops
5 - Small zipper pouch for monthly necessities
6 - Wallet
7 - Nail file in a case
8 - Lip balm
9 - Mace
10 - Headphones
12 - Gloves
13 - Brush/mirror duo
15 - Cell phone
16 - Cerave cream lotion
17 - Aquaphor
18 (not pictured) - Camera (this model, but black)

What do you keep in your purse?

Big Changes

This last week has been insane. I graduated with my Master Degree and am now officially a Physician Assistant!

All photos taken by my mom at 501(c)andids.
I then packed up my entire life and moved across the country, making sure to take pics along the way (what "hobby photographer" doesn't?).

The pic on the bottom right was of an entire area with abandoned old cars.

The sunset was gorgeous and made for some amazing pictures that didn't require a bit of editing. :)

I even got to try my first In-N-Out Burger in Dallas! Best part (other than the deliciousness living up to my expectations) were that they gave us a Christmas card signed by every employee!

Next up: coming up with the menu of desserts to be made on Christmas Eve (which will definitely be a blogpost).
Have an amazing holiday!!

"The best things in life are unseen. That is why we close our eyes when we kiss, laugh & dream." -Unknown

I'm making big changes in my life over the next few months as I get my master's degree, move across the country, get my first REAL job, and start my life in the real world. This blog is my way of dealing with these changes all the while learning about myself and living on my own. Hope you enjoy!
