Update

Life has been crazy and unexpected lately. I started my career (take that, 20 in 2012!).

I'm working 50-60 hours a week while getting accustomed to "big girl life" and loving every second.

My love life even seems to be taking a turn for the better...

I haven't yet figured out how to make everything work together (blogging, life, career), so I'm open to help from you, my awesome blog family. I can't imagine how some of you do it with a family to take care of after working 12 hours to pure exhaustion.

Thanks for hangin' with me and seeing what happens while I adjust to this new chapter!

July Birchbox!

via
Have you heard of Birchbox? $10 and you get a box of beauty samples in the mail each month!

Every month I love Birchbox more and more. Here's what I got this month!

Alterna BAMBOO Color Hold + Fade-Proof Finishing Gloss
sample (0.25 fl oz) = $2.40

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner
sample (FULL SIZE) = $15

Harvey Prince Hello
sample (??) = $?

Tea Forte minteas
sample (1 FULL SIZE tin) = $3.32

Supergoop! City Sunscreen Serum
sample (??) = $?

Birchbox Exclusive Neon Earbuds
FULL SIZE (??)

There's no price on the website for the earbuds, and the perfume and sunscreen don't have a written sample size, so with those excluded, the rest of the box is worth $20.72

I love the earbuds and the smell of the perfume The eyeliner is awesome. I don't like the flavor of the mints, so I don't know what I'm going to do with those. That said, I doubled my money once again! Woot woot!

What'd you get in your Birchbox?

Never Have I Ever - Part 2

Remember that game you used to play with all your friends? And how proud you were when you won? This is kind of like that!

Here are FIVE things I've never done that most people have.

Read Part 1!

1. Gone snowboarding or skiing -
No reason for it, but every vacation I've taken has been to a warm climate. And I may or may not be worried I'll break every bone in my body like this guy:

via

2. Been to another continent -
This WILL happen.
via
3. Gotten a ticket -
I speed daily. I don't always come to a complete stop at stop signs. I never have my hands at 10 and 2. I'm a lucky rebel.

via
Bahahah...this made me laugh out loud.
4. Climbed a tree -
For some reason most of my friends have done this. I never really understood the appeal. I also thought I would break every bone in my body (see #1 for visual representation of this fear).
via
5. Broken a bone -
And although two of these items include my fear of breaking a bone, I have never actually broken any. Go me!

Knocking on wood while posing exactly like this.

Oily Woes

OC8 Professional Mattifying Gel "traps facial oils to reduce shine and redness for up to 8 hours." "OC8 is clinically proven to reduce shine and improve the appearance of facial foundation."

I don't know about you, but I have oily skin. If I don't do anything about it, I'll be shiny after only a few hours. It's not attractive, y'all.

I'm always hesitant to try new products because of my acne-prone oily skin (you're so jealous right now). That being said, I am in love with OC8.

This product goes on before my foundation, and really does mattify my makeup right away. My skin is not only less shiny, but it feels softer and looks better. That being said, the website says you don't have to have oily skin to use this since it does help your skin in other ways too!

I give OC8 4 stars. The only negative I can find is that it retails for $40 (yikes); however, you can buy at Amazon for only $27!

Disclaimer: I was sent this product to review, but all opinions are my own.

Me, Myself, and I

Today I'm linking up for the Me, Myself, & I party!

1. What is your biggest phobia?
Hmm. I'm afraid of the normal things like bugs and snakes and heights (well, I'm afraid of the fall, not the height). I'm also afraid of failure. I've spent 6 1/2 years post grad. I have a ton of loans to pay back. I have a lot of people watching me to see how well I fare in the medical world. I don't really say this often, but I really am afraid of failing. :-\
via
2. If you could relive any day of your life, what would it be and why?
I had an amazing 21st birthday! I spent it in Disney World, my favorite place ever, with my mom and my friend Kristen. I had the best time and would love to relive that day over and over again.

3. If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?
I loved my last year in college and first year in grad school. I guess I was 21?

4. Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?
Eliza Dushku and Emily Deschanel, which I must say is awesome because they're both gorgeous.
1 // 2
5. What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?
All of the following songs have a special meaning to me for one reason or another.
In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel
Good Life - One Republic
Sweet Disposition - The Temper Trap
I'll Make a Man Out of You - Donny Osmond, Mulan Cast
Drops of Jupiter - Train
Bitter Sweet Symphony - The Verve
Say - Ryan Cabrera
Waiting on the World to Change- John Mayer

P.S. Here's a Spotify Playlist, just for you.

Although I wished I looked like this here sexy lady,
via

I'm glad I don't look like this girl, because really does anyone look normal in blue eyeshadow?
via

Ready? Wait for it...

See? Not pretty.

I try my best to wash my face nightly so I don't wake up with raccoon eyes...so at least that's good, right?
via
I LOVE Ellen DeGeneres.

And I apply my go to creams, because everyone should use sleep to fight acne and aging;-)

Next week, make sure you come back and link-up!

TRUTH: If you had 24 hours left to live, what would you do?
DARE: Post a photo of your bedroom as is. Tell about what we see in the photo.

Never Have I Ever - Part 1

Remember that game you used to play with all your friends? And how proud you were when you won? This is kind of like that!

Here are FIVE things I've never done that most people have.

1. Gone camping -
Maybe I'm a little high maintenance. I like air conditioning, sleeping in a bed, and not having to fend for myself in the woods. My ex tried to take me camping, but unfortunately? fortunately? we broke up before that happened. I dodged that bullet...

via
This couple looks way too happy to be camping.
2. Pulled an all-nighter -
Nope. Never done it. Not through high school, college, or grad school. Not for fun. Not for studying. I like my sleep too much.
via

3. Tried a cigarette -
Gross.

via
4. Visited NYC or Cali -
I will eventually, just see here. :)

via
5. Gotten fired from a job -
via
Excuse me while I go knock on wood so this won't happen today.

What have you never done that most people have?

Don't forget to link up tomorrow for week 2 of Truth or Dare Tuesday!
